BBC Philharmonic Orchestra Date: 9th May 2008

Violin virtuoso and soloist, Nicola Benedetti will play the sensational pieces such as Mozart’s violin concert number 3, Mahler’s Symphony number 6 and Holst The Planets, at the legendary European BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham. Acclaimed Conductor Gianandrea Noseda will conduct this concert to be held on Friday 9th May 2008, 7.30 pm onwards.

Here and Now Tour 2008

Seven popular artistes of the eighties are scheduled to perform together at a landmark musical concert titled Here and Now Tour 2008. Rick Astley, Bananarama, Paul Young, ABC, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Johnny Hates Jazz and Cutting Crew, will enthral the audience on Friday, 9th May 2008 from 6.30 pm onwards at Nottingham Arena, The National Ice Centre, Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham, NG1 1LA.

Sarah, Nadine, Kimberley, Nicola and Cheryl of the “Girls Aloud” band are on a UK tour to promote their super hit album “Tangled Up”. This album features their two hit singles, ‘Sexy! No No No’ and ‘Call The Shots’. The band will perform at the Trent FM Arena Nottingham, National Ice Centre, Nottingham, NG1 1LA on Tuesday, 20th May from 7.30 pm onwards. Dalai Lama Date: 24- 28th May 2008

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, will address the public in Nottingham Arena from Saturday 24th to Wednesday 28th May 2008, 9.30 am onwards. He will give discourses on “Bringing Meaning to Our Lives”, and “Investigating the Nature of Reality (tendrel toepa).” An additional talk on Caring for Our World will be held on Sunday, 25th May at 2.30 pm. He will confer the Vajrasattva Initiation on the morning of the 28th.
